History
The Glenroy Company was founded as a general partnership
between Glenn Yowler and Roy VanArsdall in 1945. Mr Yowler was a brick
layer while Mr. VanArsdall had been a real estate representative for the
Shell Oil Company.
In 1952, Mr. VanArsdall acquired the entire company form Mr. Yowler and
incorporated the firm. Jesse N. Jones was elected President in 1967, and
Mr. VanArsdall moved to Chairman. C. Lane Slaughter was elected President
in 1995, and Mr. Jones assumed the role of Chairman. In 1997, James Kojetin
was elected Secretary; and in 1999, Mr. Jones retired and now serves Glenroy
in a consulting capacity.
The company's early focus was the construction of service stations. After
incorporating, the firm began to construct increasingly larger and more
complex projects. Glenroy Construction Company, Inc. has successfully
constructed projects of virtually every size and style, utilizing innovative,
as well as traditional, materials, means and methods. Projects have served
both public and private clients in uses ranging from retail and commercial
to industrial and institutional.
